What is the Portfolio Exhibition? The Portfolio and Exhibition process is a two-step project that spans all four years of high school. Part 1 — The Portfolio (Grades 9-12) You will need to submit work in each of your four years at Patrick Henry. There is a specific list of requirements for each grade level and all work must be submitted by the appropriate grade-level deadline. Work may not be turned in late nor can it be submitted for previous years. The portfolio office will record the work you've turned and keep it for you until your senior year. Part 1 is graded on whether or not you turned in the required work by the deadline date. Part 2 — The Senior Exhibition (Spring of 12th grade) In the spring of your senior year, the portfolio of work that you've turned in will be returned to you along with information and instructions on how to prepare your Senior Exhibition presentation. You may use the work that is in your portfolio (that's why the portfolio office has saved it for you for four years), or mix and match with work that you've done recently, or that you've saved on your own from previous years. Part 2 is graded by your Exhibition Panel and is based on this set of grading guidelines (rubric). Your final grade is an equal combination of your Portfolio grade and your Senior Exhibition grade. Part 1 gives you an opportunity to collect work that will be suitable for your Senior Exhibition; Part 2 is the preparation and delivery of your presentation. There are two purposes for participating in the Senior Exhibition:
This Portfolio Exhibition process is a San Diego City School District graduation requirement. A student who does not successfully complete the process is not eligible for a diploma or graduation. |
