Organizing Your Exhibition Binder
Your Exhibition binder binder must adhere to the following formatting
guidelines or you will be given zero points for this part of the Exhibition
score.
Outside Appearance
- Your binder must be NO LARGER than 2½ inches
- The binder must have a typed name on the front cover and the spine.
For best results use a binder that has a clear plastic insert area.
- Your binder must be clean and professionally
presentable. All price stickers, barcodes, UPC symbols,
pictures, etc must be removed from the binder
- Do not stuff it so full that the panel has a
hard time flipping through the pages
Inside Appearance
- Include a title page with your name
- Make a Table of Contents page. List what is
inside the binder and the section number so it can be found
- Include tabbed binder dividers to separate
the sections of the binder
- A suggested order for the rest of your
portfolio contents is:
- Resume and cover letter
- Attendance record (optional - available from StudentConnect)
- Reading log
- Reflection Sheets, Choice Works and other
grade-specific requirements (job application, COIN or COPS survey, etc)
separated in sections by grade level. You may remove the cover sheets
from your non-choice work (the sheets that just have your name and a barcode
- Awards, certificates and honors
- This is a suggested order, but all the above items
must be included in your portfolio binder.
- NOTE: Transcripts are not
required. You are welcome to include report cards, but
transcript requests will not be accepted this year for Exhibition binders.
- Remember, you only want to include work that
you believe shows the best overall experience at Patrick Henry. In other
words, you DO NOT have to include everything from your four years of
portfolio submissions. Similarly, you MAY include work that was not in
your portfolio file. You may also put in any work that you've done that was not
put in your portfolio. Choose your work carefully!
- If you have a separate binder with additional
course material (like ROP Child Development classes), you may bring it with you on the
day of your presentation. Do not submit this portfolio in
place of the one that includes all of the above-listed items.
