Play For The Cure -- Girl's Field Hockey vs Mira Mesa in support of the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation

October is Play 4 the Cure Month! PHHS Girls Field Hockey wants to make a Difference! Play Pink! Play 4 the Cure!

Patrick Henry Girls Field Hockey will be playing a Breast Cancer Awareness Game against Mira Mesa High School on October 13th (at 5:00 and at 6:15) We hope to make this an annual event supporting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness charity. Help us as we continue to unite the fight against this disease with the same fire we carry on the field when we play our favorite sport.

Breast cancer affects one out of every eight women in the United States. In 2007, almost 180,500 new cases of invasive breast cancer were diagnosed; and although that number has decreased from previous years, there are still more than 40,000 deaths annually from this disease. October is the height of the field hockey playing season in the United States! AND October is also the month when the National spotlight shines on breast cancer awareness. The merger of our sport AND a chance to give back - make for the ultimate winning combination of athletics and humanitarianism.
